A civil engineer from Cyprus with 7 years of experience in Europe and Asia, I have worked in the building and infrastructure sectors of major projects. Through this programme, I can further develop my skills and discover new cultures and countries.
I have spent the first year of the bridges programme in the Technical Department of T2 as senior methods engineer. Changing work background (from production to technical) was challenging but I enjoyed every part of it, as I had the opportunity to enhance my technical skills and to acquire knowledge about tunnels and boring machines. I contributed to develop solutions regarding the retraction, disassembly and transportation of ø4.53m boring machine.
I also have had the opportunity to participate in exchange university events where I presented to engineering students the T2 project and I introduced to them the concept of working in the technical department.
Despite the fast – paced lifestyle that comes with living in the dynamic city of Hong Kong, there is always something exciting to do to recharge and relax. Whether I am exploring the bustling streets, trying the local cuisine, having drinks on rooftop bars or exploring the nature and serene landscapes.
On the weekends I tend to visit islands of Hong Kong, such as Lantau, Lamma or Aberdeen. The contrast between the city and the islands is the perfect escape after a long week.
One of my favourites things to do is to take the tram to the Victoria Peak. The view from the Peak is simply stunning especially at sunset.
Also I took advantage Hong Kong’s location and I travelled in Thailand, Macau and Japan.
