Arriving in Guyancourt was initially a bit daunting as I was unfamiliar with the area and did not speak the language. The lack of activities in the town made it feel somewhat isolated. However, after spending a few weeks there, I moved to Paris, and I am so glad I did.
Having come from Miami, where historic buildings are relatively scarce, I was eager to experience the rich history and architecture of Europe. Paris, with its iconic landmarks and charming streets, has exceeded my expectations. The city’s vibrant atmosphere and unique energy have made it a truly unforgettable experience.
My time at Challenger has been a total blast! It has been incredibly eye-opening to see how the heart of Bouygues construction beats. Sure, the language barrier threw a few curveballs, but it has been a great way to meet some awesome people and make connections that will come in handy wherever my travels take me.
It has been nice learning French, even though I am still a total beginner. But hey, that is half the fun! I am determined to keep practicing and hopefully reach a point where I can hold my own in a conversation.
I have enjoyed exploring the city, eating good food, drinking good wine, going to music events and I am slowly discovering my favourite spots. I was lucky enough to be here during the olympics and went to see Athletics, Beach Volleyball and at the paralympics i seen wheelchair tennis and blind football.
