Ocean Law
Hong Kong to England

A civil engineer from Hong Kong with 7 years of experience in infrastructure project delivery, I love traveling, hiking and cooking: it fuels my curiosity to discover new cultures. There’s a lot to explore in this big world, and I never want to stop.

Listen to Ocean's podcast!

I work on the HPC Nuclear Island Unit 2, focusing on the internal structure for the nuclear reactor building. Managing the pool and stitching section to ensure the proper construction of the reactor pit, I also manage temporary works for heavy precast landings. As the deputy Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) for the building, I handle complex temporary works to make sure we follow company procedures. It’s a responsible job, but I take pride in ensuring everything is done right. Working on this project is both challenging and rewarding, contributing to the safe and efficient construction of the nuclear reactor building.

Recently, my team was honored with the Gold Award for Excellence in Quality at the annual HPC Excellence Award. This recognition not only reflects our collective commitment to maintaining the highest standards in our work but also highlights the exceptional dedication and skill demonstrated by each team member. I’m so proud to be part of a team.

The very first place I visited was Clifton Suspension Bridge. It was an exciting experience for me as I had heard a lot about the bridge and had seen pictures of it, but seeing it in person was something else entirely. The bridge is an iconic landmark in Bristol and is a true masterpiece of engineering.

I am so grateful to meet other Bridges in HPC. We have been able to explore, connect and share our experiences together during our free time. It is always great to learn from each other and create a sense of community. We make efforts to have meals together, whether it’s lunch or dinner. It gives us great opportunity to catch up on each other’s lives and share our own experiences. We have found that it helps us to feel more connected and supported during our time here.
