I’ve always been fascinated by complex infrastructure projects, leading me to civil engineering. With nearly five years of experience on Europe’s largest project, I specialise in rebar prefabrication, quality control and Safe Systems of Work. I’m eager to expand my expertise and contribute to innovative projects with a strong focus on precision, efficiency, quality, and safety.
My transition from Hinkley Point C to Paris has so far been a very rewarding experience, a huge change of pace and lifestyle, both in my career and in day-to-day life. Swapping the UK’s largest construction site for the French capital has meant trading my hard hat for office time, meetings and expanding my network, but also opening the door to new ways of working and exploring a completely different line of work.
At Hinkley, my focus was on supporting teams on the ground: managing a team responsible for inspections, producing safety plans, and ensuring prefabrication ran smoothly. Now, in Paris, my role within the Technical Team includes managing a damage assessment report into further impacts on the NSC at the Chernobyl Power Plant, as well as working on prequalification and tender processes for projects we are hopeful to win in the Nordics. The scope is broader, the challenges are different, and the learning curve is steep — but only in the best way.
Outside of work, getting to grips with Paris has been just as eye-opening. Moving from Taunton to the French capital has been a real shift — the city is far more eventful, lively, and at times chaotic. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to experience living and working in Paris.
