A Civil Engineer with expertise in Quality Control and Project Management, I have a passion for the development of superstructures. My dream is to explore the world, meet new people, and immerse myself in diverse cultures. I’m looking forward to trying fitness and hiking while embarking on this new journey with the Bridges Program.
When I arrived in the UK, I was struck by the beautiful scenery and excited to start my new job. I was grateful to have my family with me, making the experience even more special.
Initially, I felt a bit intimidated working in a nuclear power plant with zero prior experience. However, my diverse team welcomed me with open arms, offering valuable guidance and support.
They helped me adapt to the new work environment, teaching me the language and processes.
Although it took time to adjust, I’ve been enjoying the challenges of being a Site Engineer. I’ve been assigned to site setting-out and temporary structures, which has been a great learning experience. My manager’s approach is to start from the ground up, ensuring I have a solid understanding of the project. This hands-on experience is invaluable, and I’m excited to build on this foundation. Working with colleagues from different cultures has been enriching, despite occasional language barriers. Sharing stories and learning about each other’s cultures has bridged the gaps.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow with a great team, and most importantly, having my family with me has made this experience even more enjoyable. We love exploring new places together on the weekends, making the most of our time here.
