Moving from the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong to the more laid-back city of Melbourne in January was quite an adjustment. One of the most striking differences was the pace of life. While Hong Kong is renowned for its frenetic energy, Melbourne exudes a sense of tranquility. The city’s abundance of open spaces contributes to a calmer atmosphere, and there is a palpable appreciation for work-life balance.

This year, I made a significant career transition from the technical department to production. In my new role as a project manager, I oversee small-scale projects, and I have found the hands-on nature of production to be incredibly rewarding. The challenges of meeting deadlines, managing costs and coordinating resources efficiently are both stimulating and satisfying.

My new role has also forced me to develop stronger communication skills, as I frequently liaise with various stakeholders. I take great pride in successfully delivering projects on time and within budget, and it has been a fulfilling experience to see my work come to fruition.

When I am not working, I am usually on a food adventure in Melbourne. I have become a bit of a local cafe connoisseur and love trying out new restaurants. To balance all the deliciousness, I stay active by hitting the gym and cycling along the Yarra River.

On weekends, I am all about soaking up the city’s vibrant culture. I recently had a blast at the Ultra Music Festival and felt right at home at the Antipodes Greek Festival. And if I am feeling adventurous, I love exploring beyond Melbourne. I recently took a trip to Tasmania, caught up with my Bridges colleague, Martyna, and had a blast exploring the island’s stunning landscapes while catching up.
