Relocating from the temperate climes of Taunton, UK, to the tropical paradise of Miami has been quite an adjustment. The warm, sunny weather is a stark contrast to the cooler temperatures of the British Isles. Miami’s cuisine is also a fascinating exploration for me, with a plethora of Latin American and Caribbean dishes to savor.

The city’s vibrant culture, characterized by its diverse communities and lively music scene and festivals, has created an exciting and dynamic atmosphere. It feels like a thrilling new adventure awaits around every corner!

Last year, I was a site engineer in HPC, basically a real-life problem solver. I was on-site, wrench in hand, tackling whatever came my way. It was a fast-paced, hands-on gig that kept me on my toes. Now, I am a method engineer at CBNA HQ, which is like being a project architect before the first brick is laid. I am currently knee-deep in a project in Toronto, Canada. It is a different kind of challenge, but I am still solving problems—just on a bigger, more strategic scale.

I love diving into new projects. It keeps me excited every day! Being part of the early stages is super rewarding because I am helping to set the course for how things will turn out. And let’s not forget the amazing team I am working with. My colleagues and partners bring fresh perspectives and ideas that make the job even more interesting and fun.

One of the most rewarding experiences I have had in Miami has been volunteering with my colleagues to help paint a house. Working alongside the family who will be living there, we were able to make a tangible difference in their lives. It has a humbling experience to know that your efforts can have such a positive impact.

Participating in a corporate run with over 14,000 people was an exhilarating experience. It has been great to continue running with a group of friends and colleagues, not only for the physical benefits but also for the camaraderie and support.

When my mum visited in August, we took the opportunity to explore some of the incredible natural beauty that Florida has to offer. Key West and Everglades National Park were highlights, and it was a special feeling to be able to show her around just as she did for me when I was younger and create lasting memories.

Attending a Miami Heat basketball game and a Candlelight concert with friends and colleagues has been an absolute blast. Miami is full of vibrant energy, and it has been wonderful to share these experiences with people who love to explore and have fun. These activities have truly made my time in Miami unforgettable.
